March: Selak Tucas renounces the Acala and Almach Accords, demanding all the worlds entailed by them be returned to Capellan authority. Tensions escalate when he recalls the Capellan ambassador home from New Avalon, and demands Federated Suns’ system Lee be surrendered as well. Things become only worse when Fashir Tucas, Selak’s brother and the ambassador in question, vanishes on his way home. This is interpreted as provocation by Selak Tucas. The Capellans mobilize forces and the Suns respond with a declaration of war. The next several years would largely see Federated Suns’ success and the Capellan government’s destabilization. Ian Cameron retires and is succeeded by his daughter Lady Margaret Cameron. She introduces the Military Recruitment and Preparedness Bill, making military service mandatory for all adult citizens. (1630p22)

Tenno Kurita declares resistance in Rasalhague subjugated and withdraws a majority of Combine forces from the area. In truth, the territory remains officially neutral and independent for another century and a half. (1620p27)

After the embarrassment of repeat defeats against the Federated Suns, Prime Magistrate Tucas is removed from power, and the Capellan Hegemony is restructured into the Capellan Confederation. Its legitimacy is not recognized by Reynard, and the conflict with the Suns continues. (1623p25)
