History

Captain Roland Markes was a MechWarrior serving in the 1st Fusiliers of Oriente during the defense of Irian in 2842. He allowed his MAD-3R Marauder to be stripped of its PPCs for the sake of a fellow MechWarrior's Awesome, resulting in the modification of his own 'Mech into what would become the MAD-3O configuration.

Using the formidable brace of Medium Lasers and the more powerful Autocannon/10, he instructed his jump capable lancemates to hit the Lyran raiders, pinning them long enough to bring the Marauder into the fight. He would be one of the few officers to survive the conflict.

His tactics would earn him a transfer to the Oriente Ducal Guard, where he continued to refine the use of his reconfigured 'Mech. He would advise the engineers at Gibson Federated BattleMechs, aiding in the creation of the MAD-3O variant.
