The chief NCO and Weapons Master of Carlyle's Commandos, Sergeant Kai "Griff" Griffith was directly responsible for Grayson Carlyle's training in BattleMech operations and combat.
Bald headed, with a drooping mustache, and a scar running from his jaw to right ear, he was regarded as an intimidating figure by his pupil and others around him.
He would be killed by raiders during the attack on The Castle.[1]
