Victor Ian Steiner-Davion was born to Archon Melissa Steiner and First Prince Hanse Davion on 12 April 3030, just as the 4th Succession War was concluding. He was given the name Victor in celebration of the newly forming Federated Commonwealth's victories during the conflict, a realm to which he would become heir of.

He was raised from an early age to serve as the Archon-Prince of his realm, though he showed far more interest in his military upbringing than the more political side of his duties. His sharp mind for strategy and tactics served him well over the many campaigns fought against the Clans, and his skill as a MechWarrior were proven frequently.

His political acumen did not rise to the same measure, and he frequently managed faux-pas that would cost himself and his realm dearly. A poorly thought out attempt to replace the dying Joshua Marik resulted in war with the Free Worlds League and Capellan Confederation, a move which allowed his sister, Katherine Steiner-Davion to secede the Lyran Half of the realm from his control.

In what would become a pattern for the young Archon-Prince, Victor would proceed to throw himself at military matters, leading a Star League Defense Force operation to break the back of Clan Smoke Jaguar, culminating in the ending of the Clan Invasion, but at the cost of the remaining portion of the Federated Commonwealth.

He would in turn be made Precentor Martial of ComStar, and cast the decisive vote that blocked Katherine's ambitions to become First Lord of the Star League at the Second Whitting Conference. Since that time, he has remained in service at his post, though political pressures within his former realm have begun to test his will to remain ambivalent to the plight of his people.
